Robert Andrew Parker (b. 1927)

Robert Andrew Parker was born in Norfolk, Virginia in 1927. He attended the School of the Art Institute of Chicago from 1948 until 1952 and worked during the following months at the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture in Maine and at Stanley William hayter's Atelier 17 in New York City. He has illustrated over forty children's books and has been recongnized with awards including a Guggenheim, a Caldecott Honor and an American Association Notable Book award.
