The Persistence of Vision: Early and Late Works by Artists with Macular Degeneration, accompanied The Vision & Art Project’s 2018 exhibition of the same name at the University of Cincinnati DAAP Galleries. Abundantly illustrated with images of paintings and drawings that were included in the show, this exhibition catalog includes a preface by Phyllis Tuchman, an introductory essay by A’Dora Phillips and Brian Schumacher about the timeless presence of macular degeneration in artists’ lives, and brief vignettes about how each of the eight artists in the show responded to the challenges of vision loss.
Both standard and large-print copies of the catalog are available at request free-of-charge. Please contact us if you’d like a copy: aphillips.visionandartproject@gmail.com.
